Description:

Seeking a positive, service-minded individual with excellent people skills, a sound work ethic and a “can-do” attitude for a Senior Teller position at the Largo Main office. Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations, provides timely and courteous service to credit union members and supervises teller line operations. Detailed responsibilities follow.

 

Responsibilities:

Provides general account information and information about credit union products and services, performs account transactions and maintenance, and resolves routine problems. Responsible for vault cash and shipments. Coaches, mentors and guides other staff members with cash handling responsibilities (Tellers). In addition to typical job duties, the Largo Main Office Senior Teller processes and/or facilitates processing of deposits and payments by night depository, U.S. mail and ATM, processes outgoing mailers, and maintains inventories of negotiable items for all branches. Maintains a working knowledge of and complies with applicable credit union policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations relating to credit union operations. Ensures confidentiality of all credit union, member and employee information and transactions. Adheres to the highest level of business ethics and discretion. Supports a team-oriented workplace and represents the organization in a positive fashion at all times. Participates in job-related training and employee meetings as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills and
Qualifications:

Requires a positive, motivated and adaptable person with initiative, aptitude and willingness to learn. Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and excellent prioritization, multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills. Strong people skills, high level of confidentiality and customer service skills are critical. Attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency and basic math aptitude required. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), web browsing, CRT, 10-key calculator and general office equipment required. Use of computer equipment requires repetitive key strokes. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds, and some bending or stretching. Must be able to see, hear and use a telephone, and read, write, speak and type English fluently (bilingual helpful).

  

Education and Other
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of cash handling experience required.
  • At least two years of supervisory background in a financial institution is preferred. Credit union experience is a plus.
  • Equivalent combination of education, skills, qualifications and experience will be considered.
