American Cancer Society's 2013 Largo Relay for Life

Pinellas Federal Credit Union is a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society's 2013 Relay for Life of Largo. The event will be April 20-21, 2013 at Largo Central Park, Largo, Florida.
Pinellas Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a campsite and raising funds to help fund cancer research.
Last year, we raised over $2,900.00 as a team and collectively, all teams raised over $27,000.00 for the cause. Let's beat those totals, this year!

To donate to the cause:
- Visit our HEARTS of Pinellas FCU team page to donate online to our team or to a specific team member.
- Stop by any Pinellas Federal Credit Union branch location to donate funds or to purchase World's Finest Chocolate candy bars (suggested donation of $1 each).
- Be a Sunshine Sponsor! For $250.00, Largo Relay for Life will advertise your company's sign along the Relay course throughout the duration of the event. Interested? Just complete and return a Sunshine Sponsor form and a check for $250.00 to any Pinellas Federal Credit Union branch location by April 8, 2013.

Pinellas Federal Credit Union Proudly Supports the All Children's Hospital Center for Autism
Pinellas FCU, along with other credit unions of the Tampa Bay Area Credit Unions for Kids foundation, recently supported The Center for Autism at All Children's Hospital by selling chances to win a $10,000 Visa gift card, and by sponsoring and providing volunteer staff members to assist at the 8th Annual Credit Union Kids Classic on October 8, 2012 at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Florida. All proceeds from the event benefit The All Children's Hospital Center for Autism.
The lucky winner of the $10,000 Visa gift card was a resident of Valrico, Florida: Ticket #23847. Congratulations to the drawing prize winner!

Pinellas Federal Credit Union was a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society's 2012 Relay for Life of Largo. The event was held May 4-5, 2012 at Largo Central Park.
Pinellas Federal Credit Union sponsored a campsite and raised funds to help fund cancer research. Many thanks to our team, our members, our Sunshine Sponsors: Dimmitt Chevrolet, Maher Chevrolet and Light Source and Video Repair, and everyone else who helped us EXCEED our team fundraising goal. We raised over $2,900.00 as a team and collectively, all teams raised over $27,000.00 for the cause.

2011 Death By Chocolate

Pinellas FCU participated in Largo Rotary Club's Death by Chocolate event December 2, 2011 at Largo Cultural Center. If you like chocolate, this was the place to be! Attendees enjoyed samples of anything and everything chocolate, a silent auction, a bells choir and more. Proceeds benefitted local community programs. 2011 Festival of Trees

Pinellas FCU decorated a tree for at UPARC Foundation's 2011 Festival of Trees event November 17-20, 2011 at Clearwater Long Center. Holiday trees and other decor were auctioned for charity, with proceeds benefitting the programs of UPARC Foundation. Pinellas FCU's tree raised $750.00! 2011 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

The HEARTS of Pinellas FCU recently participated in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg.Thanks to our generous members and employees, we were able to raise $850.00 in donations to support the cause! Pinellas FCU Proudly Supports Autism Center
Pinellas FCU, along with other Bay Area credit unions in Tampa Bay Area Credit Unions for Kids, proudly supports The Center for Autism at All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg. We recently participated in the 7th Annual Tampa Bay Area Credit Union for Kids Golf Tournament at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, FL and raised funds by selling drawing prize chances to win a $15,000 Visa Gift Card. This year's drawing winner purchased their ticket from GTE Federal Credit Union. Many thanks to those who purchased chances to win. Because of your generosity, Pinellas FCU was able to raise $1,445.00 in funds! Please visit the All Children's Hospital Foundation page for more information.
Pinellas FCU Named as a NAFCU 2011 Annual Award Competition Winner
Pinellas FCU was one of two credit unions recognized by NAFCU as Federal Credit Union of the Year. Pinellas FCU earned this distinction in the asset size category of credit unions with less than $150M in assets. Six individuals and two credit unions were honored in conjunction with NAFCU's 44th Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Fransisco, CA. Pinellas FCU was also profiled in an issue of The Federal Credit Union Magazine.
2011 Tampa Bay Business Journal CFO of the Year Awards
Janet King Bower, Pinellas FCU's Director of Finance, was honored as a finalist in the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2011 CFO of the Year Awards Competition. Janet has been with Pinellas FCU since 2004, where she quickly advanced through a series of positions of increasing responsibility. She has a broad range of experience, including internal controls, audits, business valuations, financial analysis, business development and infinitives. Janet possesses a BS degree in Business Administration, with specialization in Finance and Banking and a minor in Accounting, from the University of Florida. She has served on numerous boards and is currently the Treasurer of two boards.

The annual event is co-sponsored by The National Arts Program Foundation of Malvern, PA and Pinellas County. Congratulations to this year's winners and all who entered! Pinellas FCU and Bank on St. Pete Partnership
Pinellas FCU is a proud partner of the Bank on St. Pete initiative. This initiative, headed by Mayor Rick Baker, aspires to reach the "unbanked," individuals who:
- Fear minimum balance requirements imposed by many financial institutions
- Have mismanaged past accounts
- Fear stringent identification requirements
- Have a cultural distrust of financial institutions
- Lack basic banking knowledge
