2014 Relay for Life - Largo



Pinellas Federal Credit Union participated in the 2014 American Cancer Society Relay for Life on May 30th. This year's theme was superheroes, our team created our own superhero, Miss Captain Cure! We raised over $2500 for this great event!

  2013 Death by Chocolate



Pinellas Federal Credit Union participated in the 2013 Death by Chocolate charity event sponsored by the Largo Rotary Club. Every chocolate possibility was at this event! Our table provided attendees with coffee and hot chocolate, as well as financial information, of course!

2013 Festival of Trees


Pinellas Federal Credit Union, participated in the 2013 Festival of Trees, charity event benefitting charities of UPARC Foundation of Clearwater. Our tree was themed "A Baker's Dream", adorned with cookies cutters, recipes, kitchen gadgets and topped with a chef's hat.

2013 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk


Pinellas Federal Credit Union, participated in the 2013 Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, FL.  Our group was amongst hundreds of teams supporting this great cause.

Pinellas Federal Credit Union Proudly Supports All Childrens Hospital's Center for Autism


Pinellas Federal Credit Union, along with other credit unions of the Tampa Bay Area Credit Unions for Kids foundation, sold chances to win a $10,000 Visa gift card, participated as an event sponsor and provided volunteers at the Credit Union Kids Classic Golf Tournament on October 14, 2013.


The event was held at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Florida. Over 200 golfers and 18 credit unions were represented. Proceeds benefit The All Children's Hospital Center for Autism.


The lucky winner of the $10,000 Visa gift card was a resident of Beverly Hills, Florida: Ticket #904.

American Cancer Society's 2013 Largo Relay for Life





Pinellas Federal Credit Union was a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society's 2013 Relay for Life of Largo. The event took place April 20 & 21, 2013 at Largo Central Park, Largo, Florida.


Pinellas Federal Credit Union and its employees were among 22 teams and 144 participants that sponsored campsites and raised funds. Collectively, the teams raised over $22,000.00 for the American Cancer Society in April.


Many thanks to our Sunshine Sponsors, members and employees who donated time and funds. Together, we will help find a cure.

Pinellas FCU Named as a NAFCU 2011 Annual Award Competition Winner

Pinellas FCU was one of two credit unions recognized by NAFCU as Federal Credit Union of the Year. Pinellas FCU earned this distinction in the asset size category of credit unions with less than $150M in assets. Six individuals and two credit unions were honored in conjunction with NAFCU's 44th Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Fransisco, CA. Pinellas FCU was also profiled in an issue of The Federal Credit Union Magazine

2011 Tampa Bay Business Journal CFO of the Year Awards

Janet King Bower, Pinellas FCU's Director of Finance, was honored as a finalist in the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2011 CFO of the Year Awards Competition. Janet has been with Pinellas FCU since 2004, where she quickly advanced through a series of positions of increasing responsibility. She has a broad range of experience, including internal controls, audits, business valuations, financial analysis, business development and infinitives. Janet possesses a BS degree in Business Administration, with specialization in Finance and Banking and a minor in Accounting, from the University of Florida. She has served on numerous boards and is currently the Treasurer of two boards.


Pinellas FCU and Bank on St. Pete Partnership


Pinellas FCU is a proud partner of the Bank on St. Pete initiative. This initiative, headed by Mayor Rick Baker, aspires to reach the "unbanked," individuals who:

  • Fear minimum balance requirements imposed by many financial institutions

  • Have mismanaged past accounts

  • Fear stringent identification requirements

  • Have a cultural distrust of financial institutions

  • Lack basic banking knowledge
