Overdraft Coverage Options

What is Overdraft Privilege?

Overdraft Privilege is a convenient service that can give you peace of mind and potential cost savings.  If your checking account is ever short of funds, it can help save you from the embarrassment and expense of merchant fees or non-sufficient funds charges that may have otherwise been charged.*

How Does it Work?

If funds are not available in your checking account or designated overdraft source(s) at the time an item is presented to us for payment, Pinellas FCU may cover the item by bringing your checking account balance negative, up to a maximum qualifying limit of $750. This amount will include our standard Overdraft Privilege fee charged per returned item.*

How Do I Opt In for Overdraft Privilege?

You may opt in or opt out for Overdraft Privilege at any time by calling a Member Service Representative at (727) 586-4422 or by visitng your nearest Credit Union branch.

*Overdraft Privilege is not a line of credit. Only accounts that are in good standing and have been open for at least 60 days are eligible. The account must be brought back to a positive balance within thirty (30) calendar days of a negative condition. Pinellas FCU reserves the right to revoke Overdraft Privilege at any time. There is a fee for this service. Please see our current Fee Schedule.
